Tree Planting Success!

The cold wind and rain did not put off year 3HD who did a fantastic job planting trees at Wince Brook in Middleton.  We were invited to plant over 100 trees as part of the 'City of Trees' project.  They aim to improve Manchester's landscape by planting over 3 million trees in underused and unloved woodland.

The children thought about why trees are special and what they bring to our community.  They also learnt how to plant birch saplings before working in partners to dig holes and place the trees carefully in the ground.  The children will be able to go back to this site and see the trees grow into a woodland over the next few years.  This will create important habitats for animals and encourage more people to visit the site.

Well done Year 3 and thank you for all your hard work!
