British Values

At our school, British Values are not taught as standalone ideas- they are woven thoughtfully through our curriculum and the wider life of our community. We believe these values help our pupils grow into respectful, responsible, and active citizens who contribute positively to society.

Across lessons, assemblies, enrichment activities, and day‑to‑day interactions, we promote:

  • Democracy – giving pupils a voice and encouraging them to participate in decision‑making

  • The Rule of Law – helping children understand the importance of fairness, justice, and shared expectations

  • Individual Liberty – supporting pupils to make informed choices and develop confidence

  • Mutual Respect and Tolerance – celebrating diversity and fostering understanding of different cultures, beliefs, and backgrounds

These principles shape not only what we teach, but how we work together as a school community. By embedding British Values throughout school life, we aim to nurture young people who are thoughtful, compassionate, and ready to play their part in the world.
